Four months pregnant, Lu Xiayun was working on her farm when she felt a sudden pain, and went into labor. Believing that she was having a miscarriage, she called her husband He Yong, who rushed home. He came home to his wife, and to a baby they both believed to be stillborn.

Lu Xiayun was rushed to the hospital, but the ambulance only took the mother after hearing that the baby was stillborn. The doctors, however, insisted upon checking the baby, as there was a slim chance it was still alive. Hearing that there was still hope, He rushed back home. To his surprise, his mother-in-law had already buried the baby in the yard. He quickly dug her up, amazed to find that she was breathing. This miracle baby had survived being buried for two hours.

Back at the hospital, doctors confirmed that Lu had not been four months pregnant, but six. Their baby was in good condition, but would need hospital monitoring and care. Unfortunately, being poor farmers who already had an ailing family member to care for, they ran out of money after three days. That's when a second miracle happened. News of "the baby who survived burial" had touched the hearts of many people, and donations to keep her in the hospital and under doctors' care started to flow in. The most recent update from the doctors report that the baby's condition is improving.

It's hard not to be moved by a story like this. Despite her difficult start, despite so many odds stacked against her, it's clear that she was meant to be a part of this world. If you didn't believe in guardian angels before, a story like this will make you think twice.
