Lauren Cosgrove did not have an easy childhood. She was born at 27 weeks, which led her to develop severe health conditions. She spent her entire first year of life sitting in a hospital, but through the marvels of modern science, the young girl made a full and miraculous recovery. 

Lauren had always been obsessed with mermaids. Her entire life, all she wanted was to meet one. Thanks to Linden Wolbert, a "professional mermaid," the Scottish girl's dreams were realized when a mermaid visited her in her hometown in 2013. Linden has for brightening the days of children, and that's why she got into the mermaid business.
