Because of a hospitalization following heart failure, Andre Pearson wasn't supposed to be healthy enough to travel from Rochester, MN all the way to Indio, CA for his daughter Alexandra's wedding. A few days before the ceremony, Andre was doing well enough that the staff looking after him decided they would do anything they could to help him be present for Alexandra's special day. With an fool-proof plan in place and a Mayo Clinic caretaker by his side, Andre was able to safely travel all the way across the country. On the evening before the ceremony was to take place, Andre surprised his daughter by appearing on the doorstep of the house where she was staying.

There's nothing quite like the precious moments that occur between a father and his daughter on her wedding day. It's clear that Alexandra was devastated that her father wouldn't be at her side to create and share those amazingly beautiful moments together; I can only imagine the feeling of planning a wedding for months on end, only to see your father fall dangerously ill so close to the big day. The father/daughter walk down the aisle can be such a monumental part of a wedding for the bride, and Alexandra clearly struggled with the idea of not sharing this beautiful moment with her father. The second she sees her dad sitting before her, though, you see all of that worry and anxiety lift right off her shoulders. Alexandra got the best gift she could have asked for in knowing that her dad would be there to support her on on of the most important days of her life.
