Michael Jackson's "Beat It" is one of the world's most famous and identifiable tunes. Just the opening chords are enough to get the toes tapping and the fingers snapping - you'd be hard pressed to find someone who can keep still once the tune begins. But for all its recognizability, it turns out that there is still room for improvisation.

Take, for example,  Miguel Rivera's cover in the video below. Rather than simply imitate Jackson's version, Rivera takes it to new heights by using a playing technique called fingerstyle guitar. It differs from regular guitar playing because the fingers actually pluck the guitar strings rather than just strum them, which allows for a sound with more depth by giving the musician the ability to play a melody and a chord at the same time. Rivera's fingerstyling gives "Beat It" a whole new sound - and gives his audience a song that's almost totally unique. Watch the clip below to appreciate the new version of an old classic, and share with your friends on Facebook if they'll love it just as much!
