When this crafty woman grabbed this plain old coffee mug, we didn't think much of it. But when we saw what she did with it, we were beyond impressed! This is so cool.

What a simple way to customize your boring coffee mugs! Considering how much we spend on coffee already, any way we can save money and still maintain our java addiction is much appreciated.

This got us wondering just how much of our hard-earned cash we waste on these caffeinated beans each year. What we found was a bit surprising.

According to Consumerist.com, the typical American spends roughly $1,100 on coffee each and every year. To be honest, that seems a bit low. But once we broke it down it seemed to make a little more sense.

If you were to buy a cup of coffee on your way to work everyday, that would wind up to being somewhere in the range of $20 a week.

Multiply that number by the number of weeks in a month (4) and you get the total of $80 a month.

All you need to do now is take that $80 a month and multiply it by 12 (months in a year) and you get a total of: $960.

Now, that is a rough number because somedays we tend to treat ourselves with that slightly more expensive special blend or grab a quick cup on the weekends. Once all that is factored in, you'd probably find yourself spending around $1,100 on coffee annually. So, their numbers do make sense after all.

We loved this tutorial, but how did you feel about it? Please share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comment section.
