It's hard to believe that one could get arrested for not tending to the grass in his/her yard. This unfortunate predicament was on its way to becoming a harsh reality for 75-year-old Gerry Suttle of Riesel, TX. Suttle was ordered to appear in court after city officials discovered that the grass in her yard was above 18 inches, a violation of city code.
Suttle missed her court appearance, claiming that she never received any notification of it, which then forced city officials to issue a warrant for her arrest. The elderly resident was well on her way to being jailed when a group of four brothers living near her decided to lend a helping hand. The Reynolds brothers banded together and took lawn mowers and weed choppers to Suttle's yard to cut down the tall grass.
It wasn't long before other neighbors joined in to help. Within a matter of two hours, Suttle's yard was groomed to perfection. Suttle was so taken aback by the selfless gesture of her neighbors that she was at a loss for words.
