Little girls, and even little boys, love playing with dolls. It has been that way for a long time, and for much of that time, the market has been dominated by disproportionate figures such as Barbie dolls and Bratz dolls. Today, a new doll is taking the market by storm.
Meet Lammily. Many parents are tired of the same unrealistic dolls showing up in their children's hands and Nickolay Lamm, a full-time artist and researcher, decided to do something about it. In March of this year, he ran a crowdfunding campaign to make a doll with typical human body proportions. The campaign was overwhelmingly successful and very soon the first of these dolls will be ready for distribution.
For this video, Lamm gave the Lammily doll to second graders at St. Edmund's Academy, an independent Pre-K - 8 grade day school in Pittsburgh, PA. They were first given the doll and asked what they thought of it. The answers were overwhelmingly positive, everyone thought she was beautiful. He then brought out a Barbie doll and decided to see what they would think of her in comparison. I was surprised by their thoughts. Check out the video to see what they had to say.
